Thomas
H. Thoms was born in Dundee, Scotland on 22nd August 1845, the
fourth child 0f George (1801 - 1857) and Elizabeth Thoms. His
father was a younger brother of the 15th Chief of Clan
MacThomas.
Thomas
married Agnes Dunlop in Bristol, England on 25th April 1876
and they had six children - Helen (died as an infant), Jean
(Jeanne), George, Muriel, Else and Betty (Elizabeth).
He lived
for many years in a house called Mar Lodge in Clevedon,
Somerset, England and died there at the age of 87 years on 2nd
March 1933.
He is
buried in the Churchyard in Clevedon alongside his wife and
four of his daughters. His son, George, predeceased him and is
buried in Port Said, Egypt.
Thomas was an engineer and inventor and patented
various devices. He was also very interested in his
ancestry.

Thoms is the Great Grandfather of the current Treasurer of the
Clan MacThomas Society.
